Who Can Apply

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or be within 1 year of obtaining such a degree, combined with a comprehensive understanding and command of the English language. Japanese language ability and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching experience are very helpful, but not mandatory. All of your classes will be taught in English, so you will not be required to speak the language of the country you will be living in.

The companies we partner with require a perfect command of the English language. Applicants from countries where English is not the native language must have a total of at least 10 years education from schools where English is the primary mode of education, including a Bachelor's degree from an English speaking country.

All candidates are required to submit a professional resume and minimum 350-word essay presenting why they would like to live and work overseas.

It's important to note that after university graduation there are infinite possibilities.  However, in today's economy it can be difficult to secure a desired job opportunity.  So, why not get paid to live and work overseas? iON offers an opportunity to travel, earn money, grow professionally, and enhance your global perspective for today's global economy. We are multicultural organization dedicated to connecting enthusiastic college graduates with ESL teaching jobs worldwide, with a focus on university graduates who desire to teach English in Japan.

Haven't graduated yet? No problem. We are happy to accept applications up to 1 year in advance.
